Peter Drinks Slate Vanilla Latte
This morning I had a Slate Vanilla Latte. I don’t usually go out of my way for canned coffee products. In fact I don’t remember the last time I had one before this… Anyway, it’s not terrible! If I were desperate, I would definitely buy one of these again. In addition to 175mg of caffeine, the can also packs 20g of protein. (Then again, doesn’t everything these days?) 100 calories (mostly from the milk, I assume) isn’t enough to move the needle as I chug one of these right before my morning run, but I’m generally not a fan of drinking my calories. It’s got a slight stevia/monk fruit aftertaste, but when taken cold, it’s not significant.
If you like sugary, milky coffee in the convenience of a can, try out a Slate Vanilla Latte!

Peter Drinks the Supposedly Best Coffee in Europe at GOTA… and is Instantly Filled With Regret
Okay, this has got to stop. This craze of nasty, sour, acidic coffee is ridiculous. I don’t like this phrase, as I’ve never tasted it, but I have to imagine it tastes like $#!+.
I discussed my purchase beforehand with the waiter, so I knew what I was getting into. But given this was voted #1 in Europe, I figured it was worth a shot.
It was not worth a shot – or the two shots – of espresso used to make my Americano. It was absolutely revolting.
I also discussed it with the waiter after, when he observed I had a nearly full cup of coffee after almost twenty minutes had elapsed. He said “it’s a new way to enjoy coffee.” I said “‘Enjoy’ is not a word I would use to describe this experience.”
Please, can we go back to good coffee now and stop f**king it up trying to make it “better?”
